Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to use different types of observation and conduct observations of physical, social, cognitive, and/or language development by using appropriate observation strategies. 

Directions: 

Part I.

1. Describe the purposes of the different types of observations (Anecdotal, Running Record, Time Sampling, and Event Sampling).

Part II.

1. Watch three short videos and complete the attached form for each video.

     • You can also search on YouTube for videos.
2. Use a different category of development for each observation; language, cognitive, physical, or social-emotional.
3. Select from the following: anecdotal records, running records, time sampling, or event sampling. 
4. You'll submit the purposes of the different types of observations along with three observation forms. This could all be submitted on one document or separate documents. The preference is yours.
